History

Leigh Burford grew up in the water tank business. His father and uncle established Burford Water Tanks in the 1950s, and Leigh joined the family firm in 1976, becoming an owner in 1986.

Now, after a lifetime of supplying, installing and maintaining water tanks to the lower South Island, Leigh has sold his concrete water tank manufacturing business and is putting all his focus and energy into the Burford Water Tank Cleaning service.

Leigh Burford has been cleaning water tanks since 2003. Before that, he was involved in the manufacture and supply of concrete water tanks for most of his life.

In his spare time, Leigh enjoys a bit of photography and is a member of the Southland Photographic Society. He is also a member of the local Winton Lions Club, and he and his wife Glenda are members of the New Zealand Motor Caravan Association and love to get out into the country in their 6-metre caravan.
